WHAT IS NAOMI'S HEART MISSION?
In November 2016, I had the opportunity to travel across the world for a service trip with Naomi's Heart Mission (NHM). NHM is located in General Santos City in Southern Mindanao (map left).

Naomi's Heart is a non-profit that offers a multitude of resources and support to the surrounding community. While in the Philippines, our team was able to partner with them in their day-to-day work distributing food in remote villages, delivering personal care items to women in the local prison, and creating activities for children from the mission's on-site academy.
WHAT DID I DO?
NHM Academy

Created and ran a one-day outreach program for 150+ local children to encourage community engagement

Used sports and crafts as a tool to engage with students in order foster safe, empowering, and fun environments
Feeding Program

Delivered pre-packaged meals to families leaving in remote villages throughout the mountains

Served "lugaw", a rice dish, to hundreds of children and families throughout the city

Provided food to families whose homes were destroyed in a mass fire
Community Service

Delivered food and water to a community living near the local landfill as part of NHM's feeding program

Distributed hygiene items to women in a local prison
